For a kid who grows out of his shoes quickly and destroys the toes mysteriously, these are great. Not too costly and durable enough to last.I got these for my kiddo as play shoes and they are holding up well. They still look almost new. I have never heard her complain about the fit, and I see her every day. Believe me, if she didn't like the fit or the way they look, she would tell me loud and clear! Plus, it seems like I purchased them for a reasonable price, which makes me like them even more.My son loves these shoes. I usually buy some less expensive summer shoes while my kids’ feet are still growing and these were perfect for summer. They are light weight, well ventilated shoes that keep his feet cooler during the day. The mottled black and gray pattern is great for disguising the dirt and dust that is unavoidable when kids play outside.My son is unable to tie his shoes at this time and I am happy to find a pair with Velcro closures that have held up well during the summer months.Last year I got a cheap pair from our local big box store and the insoles broke down after a week or two. The insoles separated from their fabric overlay and fell out of the shoes. I expected cheap shoes to degrade with heavy wear, but was surprised it happened so quickly. This year, I have not had any structural problems with this pair of shoes.I tried several cheap brands and this is the only one that seems to hold up in quality. The colors don't fade, and the velcro doesn't wear out. The only drawback is the little bit of colored paint at the bottom does seem to wear. Other than that this is a pretty good shoe! The picture that you see is about a month and a half of where and tear. He goes to daycare and plays outside every day and then. Those other brands did not last this long and look this nice after a month and a half! Sorry about the wood chips. They're at my kids daycare so they are seen in the picture, but I'm telling you, these are really good shoes.Wish they had rubber soles.
